  • Discounts are useful if you want to encourage the purchase of a certain product
  • You can also use discounts to promote sponsors.
    • If the user purchases something from a sponsor or visits their website you can present them with a coupon code to use at checkout.
  • Use discounts to promote courses, sponsors, or even other websites!

Creating A Discount

  1.  Go to Menu---> Storefront & Commerce---> Discount Setup
  2. In the top right-hand corner, select Add New
  3. Fill in the Necessary Information
    1. Name
      1. This is the name that users will type in to get their discount
    2. Type
      1. What type of discount is it? Useful to put Member/ Non-Member or New Student just to differentiate the discounts you make.
    3. Discount Amount
      1. How much the discount will be
    4. $ of Total- not necessary to input
    5. Minimum
      1. The least a user must purchase to be able to use the discount
    6. Product
      1. What product the discount is for (does not place restrictions but useful for your future reference).
    7. Active/ Disabled
      1. If active will be useable
      2. If disabled users will not be able to use it
    8. Expiration Date
      1. When the users will no longer be able to apply the discount (can always be extended).
  4. Select Save

And you have now created a discount!

  1. Go to your catalog
    1. Ge there by clicking on your profile picture
    2. Select My Courses
    3. Below you will find courses you can purchase
    4. You can also select Course Catalog in the top right-hand corner
  2. Select the items you want to purchases
  3. Select Checkout
  4. Next, the page above will show up
  5. Click the Enter Coupon button just below your items set for purchase
  6. Type in the Coupon Name/ Code
  7. Click the checkmark
    1. If the name is right  Use Code will appear
    2. If the name is wrong, just below it will say Invalid Coupon
  8. If the name is correct select Use Code and you will see it populate and apply the discount

You can now check out with your discount applied!
